Exploring Paths
Mission: Exploring Paths, is a mentorship program with the mission of providing youths with an outlet to have fun living healthy, active lives while simultaneously exploring their own paths of development through biking, mentorship and nature.
About: Exploring Paths ensures that children have access to bikes, helmets, one-on-one mentorship, journals, to bike paths in and out of NYC boroughs to youths between the ages of 8-18. We provide the support and encouragement necessary to ensure children remain active and healthy both physically and emotionally through exercise.
Participants are encouraged to progress at their own pace with goal-based achievement methods to ensure successful milestones, and must exhibit regular attendance and positive participation in school.
City to nature paths are encouraged and fun educational activities are mixed in-between for group activities.
The following is provided:
- One-on-One mentorship
- Fun filled educational activities during group sessions
- Guidance on how to complete longer rides with a predetermined distance or geographic destination
- Journals
- Materials needed in order to for each participant to create a showcase of his or her explorations and adventures each year in the format of their choice, guidebook/map/story etc. to share with the group and friends and families along the way
- Guidance and exploration of options open to them both on and off the path
