Shared Values — a cause and an action.
Solstice Initiative
Mission: We provide solar power to the 90 million American households that cannot install a system on their roof.
About: Solar has the potential to power neighborhoods across the United States, but 80 percent of the country-- 90 million American households--are locked out of the market. Those who rent their homes, are low-income, have inadequate credit, or possess a non-optimal roof need a solution. It is crucial to bring solar to these households because they spend a disproportionate amount of their income on electricity and because solar cannot go mainstream until we broaden access to it. Under the Solstice model, any household can purchase a portion of a community-shared solar array, enabling them to access clean energy for the first time and save money on their utility bill -- all without an upfront cost.
