Shared Values — a cause and an action.
Seed Global Health
Mission: We strengthen health education and delivery in places with dire shortages of health professional by working with partner countries to meet their long-term healtch care human resource needs.
About: Seed’s model places volunteer physicians and nurses as faculty for a year in medical and nursing schools in Malawi, Tanzania, and Uganda, expanding to two additional countries in 2016. The volunteers teach and work alongside local faculty to expand capacity, strengthen the quality and breadth of education, provide improved health professional development opportunities, and importantly, improve care for patients. Seed focuses on supporting health care professionals who are capable of teaching medical and nursing trainees in addition to providing excellent care.
Seed offers the only US loan repayment program for international service. The loan repayment model is a catalyst for service for physicians and nurses whose financial barriers would otherwise prevent them from working abroad in some of the world’s most challenging and most needy settings.
