We are empowering emerging leaders to secure and defer their post-college job offers at leading corporations, and to serve for one year at the finest nonprofit and public organizations. As Fellows transition from their service year in the social sector to their career in the private sector, they possess the spark, tools, and network to make a social impact.
Position:
ServiceCorps, located in the heart of Manhattan, is currently hiring for a full-time Community Manager to support our CEO and Chief of Staff in fulfilling our mission. We are a nonprofit startup faced with fast-paced challenges, but also a large degree of autonomy to achieve agreed project objectives. A strong candidate is self-motivated, leads with an entrepreneurial spirit, and has a strong commitment to our values of transforming communities through national service. We are seeking an individual who is able to design and execute a strategy to meet our range of needs including: building and scaling programs, supporting fundraising efforts, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our vision.
Job Duties:
Formulates and recommends long range plans for services and programs to be offered and implements as authorized
Suggests, develops, coordinates and implements program goals and strategies for expansion
Provides support for Fellows, nonprofit partners, and other issues related to Fellowship placements
Develops, obtains approval of, implements and monitors department budget
Creates strategy and implementation for annual program evaluation
Executes and markets a variety of annual events for Fellowship programs, fundraising opportunities, and board meetings
Plans Fellowship retreats, an international service trip, and other engagement opportunities as needed
Creates and maintains relationships with nonprofit partners, while performing outreach with other potential nonprofits, government offices, and elected officials for collaboration
Produces professional development curriculum for Fellowship program, including coordinating guest speakers, corporate executives, and nonprofit leaders
In conjunction with leadership, provide feedback, strategize, and support ServiceCorps development plan
Contributes and manages content, including website, press reports, and other media opportunities
Conducts research and analysis that informs a thoughtful development strategy across major individual's gifts, foundation and corporate champions for CEO
Ensures alignment of strategy across a diverse group of key stakeholders, including donors, corporate sponsors, and nonprofit partners
Identifies new individual major donors, foundation prospects and corporate partners
Plans and attends meetings with current and potential supporters and accompany CEO at high-level fundraising meeting
Performs other related duties as requested
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s Degree in management, social work or business administration preferred.
3-5 years of managerial experience and development of programs
Exceptional writing, research, organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Previous experience with program design and evaluation design
Ability to organize, manage and evaluate data, programs, and fundraising campaigns
- Past experience producing intimate and large scale events, while working with development team for fundraising strategy, donor cultivation, and sustaining strong relationships over time
Preferred Qualifications:
Desire to thrive in fast-paced environment with quickly changes processes, implementing new systems, and handling all issues with detail-oriented professionalism
A deep understanding of current national social problems and a strong desire to serve others of all backgrounds
Knowledge about evidence based practices for professional development, and passion for research in field
Available to work evenings and weekends as needed, and willingness to travel
A sense of humor and ability to leverage mistakes as learning opportunities
- Strong experience in Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Salesforce, Smartsheet, and other innovative technologies as needed
