Online Application
The online application has been designed to help ServiceCorps get to know the whole person: professional, personal, communal. To have gotten to this stage, we assume that applicants are intelligent and capable. We want to know what drives them and where they are going. In order of importance, we look at 4 areas:
- Leadership: track record and evolution
- Service: commitment and interests
- Community: outlook and ideas
- Character: where have you been, where are you going, why?
The application consists of several short answers responses and one personal statement. All essays must be written, edited, and submitted without any outside help or influence.
The Online Application includes 5 sections:
- Eligibility
- Basic Information
- Background Information
- Additional Information
- Personal Statement

Scheduling the Fit Interview:
Fit Interview
After you formally apply online and we accept your candidacy to move on to the next round of the application process, the final stage of the selection process is the Fit Interview which may be conducted in-person or using video technology depending on feasibility (there is no advantage to how the interview is conducted). The interview stage is used to determine if a candidate is an appropriate "fit" with the ServiceCorps program and the ServiceCorps community..
The Fit Interview: In preparation for your interview, think about the types of nonprofit organizations you would like to serve at during your Fellowship. This might mean looking into a particular nonprofit focus area or even into particular nonprofit organizations.
For your Fit Interview, please schedule a time on the calendar to speak with a ServiceCorps Representative. Please schedule a 45 minute interview at your convenience here (including weekends). Remember to include the phone number you can be reached at.
